    (verified owner):

The images of Hans Strand are stunning due to his very unusual perspective on “intimate landscapes.” The images that came with the special edition took my breath away and are quite a bargain. The print quality produced by TripleKite is very high. However, the scale of reproduction of the book itself is insufficient for the very intricate detail that is crucial to fulfilling the potential of Strand’s images. Too much detail is lost, despite the high quality of the printing. I would buy this book again, if it were at least 25% to 50% larger, even at a significant increase in price. As a point of comparison, I purchased the Charles Cramer volume at the same time, and the images in that book do not rely so heavily on fine detail and the scale of the book is not quite as severe a handicap to Cramer’s images. However, it would also benefit from a larger scale.

thanks for the kind words Stephen, the two books are deliberately that size as part of our more price accessible ‘discovery’ series. Unfortnately it simply isn’t possible to make a large book overtime.

Stunning picture from a master. The pictures are a great inspiration.
